Brain Book: Unit3
UNIT 3 - LEARNING
What happens in your brain when you learn?
Growing neurons: When you learn, the dendrites (branching parts) of the neurons in your brain grow new branches and reach out to other neurons. The dendrites are the parts that take in messages from other cells. Growing more dendrites means the cells can take in more information faster.
New connections: Messages are passed between the cells of your brain (neurons) through connections, called synapses. When you learn new information, your brain makes new connections between the neurons of your brain. This way, the cells can pass much more information between them and do it faster and more easily.
