UNIT 4 - Brain-Friendly Memory Tips:
Use the Spotlight-attention! Only things you pay attention to can get into working memory-and if it doesn't get into working memory, it can't get to long-term memory either. So make sure you focus your full attention on the thing you want to remember.
Chunking and Mnemonics: Connect new information to a network of other information that can support it. Organize the information by grouping or chunking. Figure out how the new information fits with other things you already know and think about all of them together. This way the new information can travel along the same pathways of things you already know well. When you want to remember new information, the old information will help bring it back to you by acting as a retrieval cue. Learn more
