Brain Book: Unit4
UNIT 4 - WHAT IS MEMORY?
What does it mean to remember something?
Memory is the basis of learning. It is stored in the new connections your brain makes when you have a new experience. Every time you remember something, your brain cells are firing messages over those new connections you made. These connections make your brain able to recreate an event, repeat an action, or recognize a friend. This is memory!
Different kinds of knowledge: You can learn and remember FACTS-like math formulas or names. You can also learn and remember HOW to do something-like how to shoot a jumpshot or the steps you take to solve a math equation. And you can remember SENSORY information-like the way something looks or sounds.
